🔔 The Season of Giving ~ Our South Bay Charities 🔔

Did you know? The South Bay is home to over 50 charitable organizations, many of whom are especially in need this holiday season. With the pandemic is continuing to challenge everything from their bottom lines to their volunteer corps, our local charities need your help! Here are just a few ways to support our South Bay nonprofits this holiday season:

The Richstone Family Center
We are a longtime supporter of the Richstone Family Center, and for good reason. Since 1974, Richstone’s mission has been to treat and prevent child abuse and provide a safe space for those who have suffered. Educating families to stop the cycle, providing support, and preventing violence in our local communities are the cornerstone of their operation. Visit www.richstonefamily.org to donate, volunteer, and learn more about their exceptional work.

The Friendship Foundation
“Changing the World, One Friendship at a Time” is the motto of the Friendship Foundation, an organization that pairs children with developmental disabilities with their peers to have fun together through social activities such as sports, music, art, and play. Tailored to a specific age group, each program is a wonderful opportunity for local kids to volunteer. Several South Bay schools from elementary through high school offer Friendship School Clubs, or you can donate or volunteer through their website: www.friendshipfoundation.com.

Mychal’s Learning Place
Mychal’s Learning Place offers wonderful programs for youth and adults with learning disabilities, helping them with skills, education, and special programs to ensure they reach their goals as contributing members of society. Mychal’s has many ways to get involved – did you know Mychal’s Bakery and Coffee caters events? Mychal’s Print and Embroidery is the perfect place to have personalized gifts made as well. Learn more about Mychal’s and ways to give at www.mychals.org.

Noah’s Bark & K911 Rescue
For those who’d like to help our furry friends this holiday, check out local animal shelters Noah’s Bark and K911 Rescue. Each of these organizations is dedicated to finding homes for abused, neglected, and homeless pets. You can help by donating and/or volunteering: www.noahs-bark.org and www.k911resq.com.
